Floor Panel Layout

The Ultimate Prefabricated Floor Panelling Software for Revit®

Floor Panel Layout – a powerful product for planning floor panels and splitting them into massive slabs or hollow core slabs. floor panel layoutThese prefabricated Revit® floor panels can later be used in the floor framing process.

Floor Panel Layout takes the architect’s designed floor and automates panel layout planning. The software draws symbolic lines to indicate the future panels according to predefined rules. Then it creates real Revit floor panels – massive or hollow core slabs. Massive floor panels later can be framed using Wood Framing Floor or Metal Framing Floor+. Prefabricated floor framing can include battens, bracing, edge joists, flooring, etc.

Compatible with Autodesk® Revit® 2021, 2020, 2019

FEATURES OF THE MODULE

  • Automates panel layout planning
  • Splits according to user specific rules
  • Massive or hollow core slabs
  • Compatible with Revit® 2020, 2019, 2018
  • Existing floor panels can be framed using Wood Framing Floor+ or Metal Framing Floor+

Floor Panel Layout is the ultimate prefabricated floor panelling software for Autodesk Revit. It's for planning floor panels and splitting them into massive concrete slabs, hollow core slabs, or timber/metal framed floors.

Floor Panel Layout takes the architect’s designed floor and automates the laying out of panels. The software draws symbolic lines to indicate the arrangement of panels according to predefined rules. Then it creates real Revit floor panels – massive concrete, hollow core slabs, or timber/metal framed segments.

Floors created from regions can be framed using Wood or Metal Framing Floor+. Prefabricated floor framing can include battens, bracing, edge joists, flooring, etc.

Below are two possible workflows for creating massive concrete, hollow core slabs, or framed floors.

Floor Panel Layout workflow

• Structural engineers can easily create floor panels according to the floor geometry designed by the architect

• Precast floor designers and manufacturers can create floor panel layouts of prefabricated floor panels – massive concrete or hollow core slabs, according to user's specific rules

Efficiency

Floor Panel Layout automatically:

• divides an architectural floor into coarse regions identified by using floor edges, supports (split lines), or openings (Generic or System)
• divides a selected floor face or the whole floor into panels by a predefined spacing and layout method
• creates individual floor segments – massive concrete, hollow core slabs, or timber/steel segments – based on the panel layout

Management

• Updates panels accordingly if architect’s floor design changes

• Panels that have been created can easily be controlled, aligned, modified, or additionally split.

• Existing floor panels can be framed using Wood Framing Floor+ or Metal Framing Floor+

• Saves hundreds of hours per project. Without this solution Revit users would need to draw individual panels manually, one by one, accounting for various openings and floor shapes every time.

• If there are changes to the floor, the user just needs to update the panel layout with “Update Panel Layout” for the selected floor segment or the whole floor.

  • Incredibly Speedy. Floor Panel Layout enables you to automatically create individual floor panels according to any architect’s designed floor geometry.

Powerful features:

Efficiency

Automatically divides architectural floor into coarse partitions – Regions – identified by using floor edges and supports (split lines), and also by Generic or System Openings.

Divides selected floor face or the whole floor into panels by a predefined spacing and layout method.

Creates individual floor segments – massive or hollow core slabs, according to panel layout.

Management

Updates panels accordingly if architect’s floor design changes.

Created panels can easily be controlled, aligned, modified, or additionally split.

Interaction

Existing floor panels can be framed using Wood Framing Floor+ or Metal Framing Floor+.

Ideal for:

Divide and split the floor into prefabricated panels

Floor Panel Layout provides a powerful set of functions for floor panel layout and splitting:

  • Panel Layout Planning includes functions for better understanding how the floor will be divided. Users can control every division line and automate the division process by predefined rules.

  • From the beginning, the architect’s designed floor can be divided into coarse partitions, or Regions. Regions can be created automatically by using Floor edges and supports (split lines), and also by Generic or System Openings with predefined distances:

  • Regions are displayed using symbolic red lines.

  • Regions can be divided into Panels by predefined spacing.
  • Panels can be aligned, modified by selected floor face, and additionally split.
  • Various automated splitting functions facilitate the process: users can split the panels in half, by maximum spacing, by middle to both ends, in middle and to both ends, from first selected, or from both ends.
  • Selected Regions or Panels can be joined, if needed.

Panels are displayed using symbolic blue lines:

  • Creates individual panels for the selected floor face or for the whole floor:

Massive floor slabs (from region layout):

Hollow core floor slabs (from panel layout):

  • These entire floor Panels can later be moved into the new phase through its Properties for better filtering and scheduling.

• Use the Floor Supports command to define Revit floor supports prior to using Panel Layout subdivision functionality.

• Select Floor Supports from the Floor Panel Layout menu.

• Select Add Supports in the Floor Supports menu.

Note: Floor supports may be structural framing (beams), walls, or grid elements.

• Follow the instructions by picking floor and supports.

• As floor supports are added, a Split Line will be generated at the center of the support element.

• Floor panels will be cantilevered or offset from the selected support elements by the values input in Panel Settings - Cantilevered Offsets from Supports

Options in the Floor Supports menu.

• Add Multi-type Supports - allows different types of supports to be selected (i.e. walls/beams/grids/structural framing)

• Add Supports - allows only one type of supporting elements to be selected (i.e. walls)

• Add Inner Support / Add Two Inner Support - allows for supports to be selected at the inside of the floor perimeter

Add Trimmed Corner Supports - allows you to form a corner support by selecting two corner elements

• Show Support Elements - allows you to see which elements were selected as supporting

• Update Floor Supports - allows you to update floor support division (i.e. split lines) if support layout has changed

• Delete All Floor Supports - deletes all support elements and split lines which were generated with Floor Supports function. All support lines added manually (using Revit functionality) will remain.

• Delete Selected Floor Supports - deletes only the selected support and support line. It will update remaining supports according to the changed layout.
